Somewhere when they started this documentary there was an idea, something they wanted to say quite clearly about how dealing with homosexuals by putting them in camps to cure them was a bad idea.

Taking from people who had been in the camp there was maybe 10-15 minutes of people actually saying what it was like in the camp, around 10 minutes of Montel Williams, and about 12 people standing outside the camp with a bullhorn and somewhere the message is lost, then it essentially becomes 2 hours of people saying 'this is a bad thing' and the centre closed 5 years ago.

If you want a clearer picture of the subject, watch the South Park episode on homosexual camps, its only half an hour and says it much better.

It was an interesting enough subject so I stuck with it to the end but the overall production of the documentary left a lot to be desired. It was more like a cut, copy and paste of someone's mobile phone footage.

not as gripping as a documentary as I had hoped for such a controversial subject. found bbc three's Stacey Dooley's 'Gay to Straight' more compelling and investigative as a documentary should be

  • Loving Religious Folk, Don't Half Know How To Show Hatred And Mis-Understanding !!!

'This is What Love In Action Looks Like' is a documentary, NOT a film !!!

It is however, a very interesting documentary regarding the ignorance, hatred and bigotry in Religion.

If these Religious folk really knew what love in action was about, then they would be deeply ashamed of themselves for being the way they are !!!

Watchable documentary about the American way religion has of habit of turning social issues into a way of making money, no matter what the cost may be to those involved.
