Classic Thomas

If you're reading this, you must be a fan of Thomas (or know a little one).
This is the best Thomas DVD we've had, simply because it shows episodes from the pre-bandwagon days (including the very first episode). It's worth watching just to see how far the technology has come - on a more current DVD I've seen a seamless shift from one expression on a train to another, masked only by steam. On this DVD, the same effect was done by a jump cut, with several 'actors' appearing as if by magic. The new episodes lose a lot of their charm without such quirks, so I recommend you go for this one.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from Halesworth, Suffolk , 19 Mar 2010Like most of your adult reviewers, I was introduced to the wonders of the island of Sodor by my toddler. It's interesting to see how the show has developed since the 1980s, with technological advances in CGI; but that only highlights the period charm of the rather static models of the early days (the detail is breathtaking). Even Ringo Starr's adenoidal delivery and hopeless character voices have a certain novelty value (and make you appreciate the vocal talent of Michael Angelis!). This first 'Best Of' instalment is a cracker, with my son's firm favourite being 'Rusty and the Boulder': Indiana Jones for Tots! The jaunty synth music is fab, too.- Was this review helpful to you?

My sons favorite Thomas
