They do not make them like this anymore

A good old fashioned movie where the Guy gets his gal. The scenes around Rome are a little dated but interesting from a historical point of view. Well worth a watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

(10)Wonderful backdrop
By Moonrakerman (1 review) , 27 Feb 2012As we have been to Rome we got this more for the scenery than the story otherwise we would not have bothered. To say that my wife and I fast forwarded through most of it, the film only lasted 30 minutes, if that, is enough of a comment on what we actually thought of the film. Rome is one of the most interesting cities in the world it was fascinating to see Rome set in the 1950's with out all the traffic that it has today.- Was this review helpful to you?

when in rome
By Tinagoddess (8 reviews) from Sheffield, England , 05 Jun 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
A great old classic that is definitely a story of social mores in the 50s when young women were expected to be chaste, nun-like and obedient.
Imagine going to work in Rome and exploring an ancient place with hidden treasures around the corner. Add the excitement and agony of falling in love, then this is a perfect film to watch. Watch it, if for no other reason than to see the fashions of the time. Quint story.- Was this review helpful to you?

An oldie but goodie
By Scorpiogal (25 reviews) from Central Scotland , 02 Jul 2010An old fashioned 'feel good' film set in the beautiful backdrop of Rome. I remember seeing this as a child (which wasn't yesterday!) and I enjoyed it just as much, if not more this time around.
Perhaps those of you in your 40s/50s and over will get more enjoyment from it than younger folk, but worth a nostalgic viewing anyhow.- Was this review helpful to you?
