I'm beginning to think the Guardian and Observer sometimes partly mark films on the director's history, this one being a case in point. Their reviews were indicative of people trying to see the best in something. I'm afraid there's nothing at all here, I didn't see any sign of the vaunted lighting/cinematography after the first scene, the story has been done a thousand times, and Ceylan's meditative pacing only works if the story captivates. Devotees of the sublime Climates will watch it anyway as I did.
This was useless as the soundtrack was in Russian? Anyway , incompehensible and there were no subtitles. Waste of a rental. I think we should get a refund. It went back by return of post.
