Not comedy, no explosions

I am quite surprised at the main write up for this film, firstly because the film is placed in the'comedy' genre, which I do not think it is, and secondly it refers to a 'tough father'. The father in the film is struggling with his own feelings and while he has difficulty expressing himself and supporting his son because of this, he is not particularly harsh or 'tough'.
The film is a gentle story of everyday people. It is a peek into a family's life. It illustrates great insight into how people develop their own philosophy on life and cope with living.
There are no explosions or monsters so it will not suit eveyone.- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth it for Benjamin Bratt's investigative procedure, I'll say no more
...And worth it for Keanu's subtle humour at the end- Was this review helpful to you?

A sweet touching intimate view of family workings
By a customer from Devon , 09 May 2009I loved this film for its sweetness and its intimate view of family life and struggles. Keanu Reeves and Vince Vaughn play very different characters than they usually do, and I particularly enjoyed the idea of the orthodontist.
Overall, a brilliant movie with some touching moments, a great storyline, and some clever subtle jokes. Very similar to films such as Bottle rocket and The Darjeeling Limited, not laugh out loud, but make you smile.- Was this review helpful to you?
