Sweets to the Sweet!

Although ostensibly a rather conventional 1970s heist movie, Cimino's very fine buddy genre offering is more a study of one man's love for another man and the supression of its expression by society's conventions and institutions. At times hilarious, but ultimately quite moving, this is fine stuff with Bridges excellent as the youthful Lightfoot, who's irrespressible charm perfectly counterpoints Eastwood's world-weary, Thunderbolt.- Was this review helpful to you?
