I've been waiting for this film to be released on DVD for TIME!! I saw it on TV, late at night after a few beers and herbal refreshment about 7 years ago. It features a cracking plot which combines high adrenaline action-adventure, fight scenes, car chases, races and cute girls. Jackie Chan plays a motor mechanic and part time racer who helps the police capture a master criminal who escapes and takes revenge on Chan by trashing his business and kidnapping his sisters. To win them back Chan has to beat the criminal in a spectacular car race. As with most HK films of this genre it shouldn't be taken too seriously and includes hilarious satire of Japan with locals bowing profusely and shouting 'Irashaimase' (welcome). There's lots of comedy including an hysterical fight sequence on a trampoline with ping pong balls in an amusement arcade! The race action features real racers on real race tracks (the Sendai circuit in Japan) and also Malaysia. Cars featured include a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, Mitsubishi GTO, and Mitsubishi HSR concept car, so something for petrolheads and martial arts fans too. In short, nothing too in depth, but high speed action, comedy, and cars; a great after pub movie.
