I only really knew one Tim Buckley album well and that was 'Greetings from LA', which I listened to a lot in the late 70s. I found the emotional and sexual longing in his voice completely extraordinary and still do, even though I now understand that not everyone liked this particular album! If you have ever wanted to find out more about him - and indeed, about the legacy he left his son, the late lamented Jeff Buckley, check this DVD out. It's very much of its time but worth it if you are fascinated by music that tries to stretch the boundaries. I found it very poignant - such a short yet intense and meaningful life, cut too short. The love and respect from his co-musicians - lyricist and guitar player - shines through and they have some fascinating insights into what he was attempting to do musically.
