I really hope it lives to to expectations. Just finished the book and i didn't just cry, i sobbed.
Very pretty, but the film adaptation of the complex and beautifully written Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger simply doesn't work. It is stunning to look at, has a very good cast, a wonderful story, but it simply doesn't translate well onto the screen and watching it from someone's point of view who hasn't read the book, I can see how this film simply just seems like a collection of pointless scenes. Overall rather dull, it's a shame - it could have been great.
This must be a metaphor for something, surely? I haven’t read Audrey Niffenegger’s best-selling novel and after seeing this silly, banal movie I very much doubt I’ll be seeking it out, but the book clearly speaks to some people, and maybe the film will too.
