(12)Surreal. Hilarious.
By LawrenceHill (9 reviews) from Londonderry , 14 Nov 2011Hilarious. Slightly more surreal than the usual from Armando Iannucci and all the better for it. Love it like Jam.- Was this review helpful to you?

Possibly one of the worst
By Minny (567 reviews) from London , 23 Aug 2010This is complete and utter rubbish. Just awful unfunny drivel. Really disappointed. I was expecting something bright, caustic and amusing but all I got was dull dirge by a group of people who should have known better! I think it would be a good cure for insomnia!- Was this review helpful to you?

Time Trumpet past its prime
By Sparrowsabre7 (6 reviews) from Bournemouth , 11 Aug 2010Now here is a sad thing. A show filled with many funny and clever comedians indulging in unfunny nonsense.
The worst part is that there's some genuinely funny stuff to be had here, but it's overshadowed by puerile rubbish. I think the single biggest flaw of Time Trumpet is that it tries to cater to everyone. One moment its induldging in biting and very funny parody of talking head documentary styles and the next its doing jokes about Charlotte Church vomiting herself inside out, David Beckham having a vagina stitched on his arm and a tv show called 'rape an ape.' Some of which may sound funny on paper but I assure you it's not.
Some shows can do absurd vulgar stuff and still be very funny, but it just doesn't mesh with the rest of the show in this case and ends up being ultimately worthless.
On a less important note, none of the future versions of celebrities look anything like who they're supposed to and often resemble someone else much more. Future Beckham looks more like Steve Irwin, Future David Cameron looks like Peter Mandelson and future Tom Cruise look like Liam Neeson when he was in the A-Team.
It's generally just poorly done, with unfunny gags and obvious, tired humour. Avoid- Was this review helpful to you?

some funny bits so ho-hum
By itstinks (681 reviews) from North of Reading , 10 Nov 2009A mish-mash of jokes on fairly soft targets. Some were very funny at the time but unlike say Spitting Image it's hard to remember anything you would recall and tell someone else about later. The charity to rid the world of death seems similar to a sketch in Kentucky Fried Movie from 30 years ago.- Was this review helpful to you?
