If only all games were like this...

First of all I must admit I was never a fan of First Person Shooters... until I played this! The game is HUGE. You have a story mode which you work your way through the levels as normal (which are varied in setting & weapons available). Your character is helped along the way by other characters all with a unique sense of humour! Also there are over 20 arcade mini games and a host of deathmatch arenas. You can even make your own levels. I've completed the story and most arcade games and only 30% through game! Be warned, if you rent this you may keep it all year!- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Good... but not Perfect.
By a customer from Leeds, England , 29 Mar 2007As far as PS2 FPS go, Timesplitters is up there at the top. They have been there right from the beggining of the consoles life and have continued to provide hours and hours of enjoyment and entertainment. What the first two games were lacking were decent One-player games. These games realy come into life during the multi-player games. The third game is still a great game for multi-player battles against your mates, but the single-player levels are still a bit weak. That said it's still a good game but since the take over of EA the game has lost something. It's lacking 'soul'. I know that sounds a bit strange to say of a game but it doesn't have that same feeling it leaves you with that the first two games did. Even after you completed the first two gamesyou would go back again and again but with this game, once it's over... it's over.- Was this review helpful to you?

Time to Split
By a customer from Cheltenham , 18 May 2006This game is awesome. Even if you dont like FPS games give this one a try. Its a far more humorous, fun, arcade feeling game than all those boring serious war type FPS that are bogging down the FPS market.
The idea is that you play a rough tough space marine named Cortez, who has to travel in time to hunt down a species called Timesplitters, who are set on destroying the human race. It soons becomes apparant that there is more to the story than that, but thats for you to find out about. So far so cliche right? And you woudn't be wrong. What stands TSFP apart is that its tongue is firmly lodged in its cheek. Many times you will be chuckling at the obvious parodies on display.
Ultimately its a multiplayer game first and foremost. It is great fun playing mates with the load of types of games on offer not just straight shooting each other, but things like Virus, Vampire, Capture the Bag. But this outing has an even more improved single player game than the previous two games in the series. Coupled with the fact that this version has online gaming enabled too. You will be playing this for ages.
Like all TS games also has multiple challenge modes as a bonus to keep you playing when you are tired of shooting people all the time. These challenges vary amazingly; Cat Racing anyone? No? How about some Monkey curling on a frozen dam?
You could not go wrong getting this game.- Was this review helpful to you?
