By a customer , 25 Feb 2012Although stating 1942 on the box the film was made before that and the ending changed after Pearl Harbour in December 1941.
The marines all wear the old style helmets and the DIs carry swords during drill periods and the training is all very relaxed.
Filmed mostly in the San Diego barracks with the sea scenes clearly shot on an indoor set it is interesting to see how the marines were training prior to Pearl Harbour and their rapid expansion to almost a million marines during the war.
