Noxeema Jackson, Vida Boheme, and Chi Chi Rodriguez are gonna show America a thing or two about being fabulous. Dressed to kill, with their Dynel tresses tossing in the breeze behind them, these three stars of New York's drag-queen beauty pageant circuit have hit the open road in a 1967 Cadillac convertible. Destination: Hollywood. But the trio is in for a detour when the car breaks down in the tiny midwestern town of Snydersville, where drag queens are about as common as August snowstorms. Up to now Snydersville has been a lot more like a graveyard than a town. That's all about to change. The local citizenry is going to get an infusion of flash and glamour the likes of which it's never seen. During the course of one incredible weekend, eyes will be opened, broken hearts healed, and hair teased within an inch of its life.

This American riposte to The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a good concept in search of a plot. The concept? Dress macho movie stars Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes in evening gowns, sit back, and watch the camp laughs roll in. And sometimes they do. The plot? Three New York drag queens on the road to Hollywood get stuck in small-town America. Cue the culture-clash messages about tolerance, Aids awareness and sexual freedom. Although sentimentally shallow and nowhere near as gutsy as its Australian counterpart, Beeban Kidron's frock opera is diverting enough, with the hugely under-rated John Leguizamo giving an amazing performance as Chi Chi Rodriguez, the cha-cha queen from hell.

    Rent It!!!

You have GOT to watch this film - Patrick Swayze makes a beautiful woman with class - Wesley Snipes is probably the only drag queen ever to have muscles to rival Sylvester Stallone and John L really does make a convincing woman (but a slutty one!)

A heartwarming story about acceptance, friendship and the fight against prejudice. A great appearance by Ru Paul at the end and even Julie Newmar!

    Funny, Sad and uplifting.

    Enjoyable!

Well, it's a nice simple film that has alot of lessons in it, mainly love your fellow man (or woman, drag queen, homo whatever), entertaining because it shows the versatility of some really big hollywood actors, john leguizamo (i think that's how you spell it) does the best job with patrick swayze coming a very close second, wesley snipes just isn't that believable, he's too muscly but still funny all the same. it's makes you laugh, cry and all the rest of it. Enjoy!

A feud between neighbours James Belushi and Julie Newmar looks set to end in court. Belushi has accused Newmar, who played Catwoman in the 1960s Batman television series, of damaging his property. In a lawsuit he claimed the former super-villain had launched a campaign of harassment aimed at driving him from his Los Angeles home. Belushi starred in a number of films in the 1980s including K9 and Red Heat. He has since forged a successful television career. He claims Newmar also badmouthed him... Read more
