Pretentious drivelBy lauranicole83 (8 reviews) , 10 Mar 2013
[Highly rated reviewer]Please, please, please don't waste your time renting or indeed watching this film. It was the biggest pile of pretentious c#&p I've ever had the misfortune to watch. I watch a lot of independent and foreign films, so I'm not someone who just rates the big, action Hollywood films highly, but this was like one giant perfume ad - dialogue includes, 'We are here, yet we are not here', 'open me, discover me'. Awful, awful, awful. Right up there with Cosmopolis as one of the worst, most pointless and mind numbing films I've had to sit through. Ben Affleck displaying an acting talent so wooden he could single-handedly accomplish reforestation of the Amazon. My sister works at an independent cinema, so the only silver lining was that I didn't have to pay to see this load of tripe. If you want a beautifully shot, thought provoking film with fantastic acting, my advice is to give this a miss and try 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' instead.

Great for InsomniaBy a customer , 24 Jul 2013First sitting of the film, I was somewhat disappointed by the arty approach to the film. Subtitled poetical lines etc. I only made it 20 minutes into the film before falling asleep. I thought I'd give it another go before sending it back. Again I did struggle to stay awake but I did watch it to the end. It was Ok but I was waiting for the point to the film.....and there was none. It just finished and I was left feeling disappointed. Wouldn't recommend.
Utter drivel.By Clonger (1 review) , 20 Jul 2013Worst pile of arty pap I have ever had the misfortune to watch. It is a slow burn moody film with a voice over done in a similar way to the film at the end of Mr Bean's Holiday. Only it is supposed to be serious. I am moved to moan about it here if only to save you from wasting precious moments of life where you could otherwise be watching paint dry or grass grow. Zero out of ten.
Disappointing EndingBy Daisy12 (17 reviews) , 20 Jul 2013Stunning scenery, wonderful music, beautifully shot... but I think you have to be in the right mood. I like arty films and was expecting something along these lines but the film just sort of grinds to a halt without any point.
Don't botherBy a customer , 19 Jul 2013Waiting, waiting for that wow moment that never comes... great cinematography, but overall totally dull.... made myself watch till the end and bored myself to tears!! 8-/
"love that loves us - Thankyou"By Trey (4 reviews) , 19 Jul 2013Ok , I couldnt bear to read the bad reviews here and not come to its defence! For me ,like with the Tree of Life , it was a start sobbing at the beginning ,continue intermittantly blubbing throughout , and finish with a really good religious ecstasy type sobbing heart wrenched open deep soul eros revelation about everything being Love. I mean , what are you waiting for?!x
