A beautiful film, thoroughly enjoyable for the whole family! An enchanting tale about a boy named Tom who has to stay with his aunt and uncle while his little brother recovers from measles. Whilst staying at his aunt's house he comes across an old Grandfather Clock which strikes thirteen times! Intrigue gets the better of him and he decides to investigate....and his adventure begins! A sweet film, perfect for a quiet sunday afternoon and a hot cocoa. Enjoy!

A good film to watch on your own or with your children. It brings out the magic of a child's imagination or is it real? It depic, how a child's life is so different between the decades.

  • Disappointing

A poor film from a lovely book. The acting was stilted, the lead - Tom - was too old for the part and ran the gamut of emotions from A to B, the direction laboured, the script weak. We didn't get to the end, it was too dull.

An old family favorite perfect for those sunday afternoons. Adding a little magical mystery to family viewing without any fear of violence or bad language. A delightful adaptation of Phillipa Pearce's novel.

  • Fantastic film

I loved this film. It was very hard warming watching the friendship between the boy from 20th century and the girl from 19 century. The scenes were great. I had the feeling being really brought back into the life of the 19 century (late Victorian time). The ending was most surprising.
