Tommy Cooper was one of the funniest and best British comedians of the 20th century. Unfortunately you can't tell that from the collection of clips on this DVD.
Although some of the clips do show you his talent, in general these clips have not been well chosen and most just come across as seeming very dated.
And unfortunately there's hardly any of his magic tricks included, which is a real shame.- Was this review helpful to you?

(9)A Bit of Re-Editing Wouldn't Go Amiss
By oxymoron (4 reviews) from Leeds , 31 Aug 2008Don't get me wrong, Tommy Cooper is a funny bloke and this is a funny DVD but it is spoiled by the fact that his routines are chopped up into short - often very short - segments and interspersed with sentimental tributes and garish 1980s-style graphics.
Is it really too much to ask for somebody to sit down and re-edit his material for a modern DVD audience?
Hopefully there is a better DVD of Tommy out there somewhere.- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth a watch

I had the pleasure of seeing Tommy Cooper live on stage many years ago,and he is probably one of the funniest comedians to have ever lived, and all his jokes and sketches did not have to resort to smutty material.- Was this review helpful to you?
