Most helpful review
Not as good as Goldeneye or The World is Not Enough, but close!
By a customer from Newcastle Upon Tyne , 13 Jun 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
' Tomorrow Never Dies'
is an old time classic which will
be remembered by film/bond fans alike.
Pierce Brosnan 's interpretation of
Bond is the defintiive version. Sean Connery used to be my favourite but now
Pierce Brosnan's in the lead. Teri Hatcher [ The New Adventures Of Superman, Spy Kids] is Paris Carver the wife of media mogul Elliot Carver [ Jonothan Pryce - Pirates Of The Caribbean: Curse Of The Black Pearl,
Robert Louis Stevenson's The Game Of
Death] who is actually loosly based on
media mogul Rupert Murdoch [ i think that's how it's spelled] the man who started up ' Sky' television. there is even line in the film quoted from William Randulph Hurst ' You Provide The Pictures, I Provide the war' this film also stars Michelle Yeoh [ Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon] as Wai Lin who is martial arts expert and chinese spy who i think is the gutsiest
bond girl ever! [ she resists him all the way until credits roll.] i loved the
idea this also had henchman called ' Stamper' who is lot like cross between
Necros in ' 007: The Living Daylights' and Donald ' Red' Grant in ' 007: From Russia With Love' this really harckens back. Vicent Schiavelli is scary but very, very good in the role of Doctor Kauffman the assassin. the film has few dark elements but still sticks to the light heartedm, gung ho, triggerhappy formula which bond does so well. must see. *****- Was this review helpful to you?

(20)More watchable Licence To Thrill
By Bobsview (549 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 15 Feb 20131997 James Bond drama. The 18th Bond film and the second of the Pierce Brosnam series. News mogul megalomaniac starts to manufacture the news by trying to start a war between Britain and China. Features the remote control BMW. A more cohesive plot than most Bond films. Easy to follow. The usual predictable action stuff. Opening scene-the Arms sale scene is the best bit of the film The story is mainly a thriller rather than the embarrassing mix of thriller and comedy favoured during the Roger moore era.- Was this review helpful to you?

Much better than Goldeneye
By Bassman71 (617 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 03 Oct 2011Techno terrorist buys encoder from Russians, Bond fails to get him, terrorist teams up with media mogul to use encoder in evil ways, 007 goes to stop them.
Much better turn by Pierce Brosnan this time as James Bond but not that difficult after the disappointing Goldeneye.
The whole thing feels like a Seventies Bond with the story, characters and over the top action despite the gadgets being more up to date.
Brosnan plays 007 a lot more abrasive this time but still has time for some bad quips, Teri Hatcher isnt in it much although looks great but Michelle Yeoh is fantastic as Bonds Chinese spy ally.
As for Jonathan Pryce, its a bit of a waste as he just plays a bad parody of a Bond villain without actually adding anything new.
Music is very good with the Propellerheads modernisation of John Barrys earlier score although the theme from Sheryl Crow is a bit bland.- Was this review helpful to you?
