Family films take a step back 30 years with this dreadful fantasy adventure about a modern-day tooth fairy. Unintentionally playing like a 1970s kids' TV show, it's amateurish and old-fashioned, reliant on weak humour and bumbling performances from a host of minor British stars. Only girls under the age of nine are likely to be charmed by the unanimated antics of tomboyish tooth fairy Yasmin Paige, who teams up with two human children in the real world to restore the lost magic to her subterranean homeland of Fairytopia. Although the brattish Paige is irritating enough, it's nothing compared to the appalling adults. Comedian Harry Enfield is particularly embarrassing as the fairy-hunting villain, while Sally Phillips's fake American accent is like nails on a blackboard. The paper-thin script and sloppy direction only compound the mess, and without any exciting action sequences or effects, there's little to distract from the tale's overall mediocrity.

    Boring!

I've got to say I expected great things from such a cast, but I've rarely been so bored in my life. Seems to me they were relying on the big names to attract viewers, but never really delivered when it came to the story. Even my youngest kids (3 & 5) weren't impressed and that's really saying something!

    One only for the children.

Unlike many new Disney/Pixar films that appeal to all the family, this one is really only for the kids.

Harry Enfield is funny, and there are some good momets, but not in the league for adults of say 'Finding Nemo'.
