Easily the worst film of director Sidney J Furie's erratic career, this bottom of the barrel cop thriller wastes a good cast in a weak heist plot and surrounds them with botched action and bad special effects. You won't care, but ex-cop Peter Weller leaves prison after serving time for a pension fund scam only to find himself in the centre of a Las Vegas casino robbery planned by stereotypical baddie Dennis Hopper. So sloppy in places it defies belief — the helicopter shot down at night landing a few seconds later in broad daylight, for example — this patched together formula flick gives new meaning to the word lacklustre.
Trivial thriller that substitutes frenetic action for sense; it is no more than a stupefying succession of car crashes, explosions and gunshots.
