everyone should own this movieBy brian@home from Glasgow , 07 Jan 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]Great one liners aside this film is superb. It's based on the stage play of the same name & stars Harvey Feinstein (who also wrote it). Loosley based on his early life in New York's drag circuit it never veers towards sentimentality too much. Indeed the script is sharp, witty, warm and in many ways hilarious. Top notch acting is provided by a sublime cast headed by Anne Bancroft as Harvey's all controlling Jewish 'Momma'. Sheer class.

Fantastic FilmBy a customer , 18 Jul 2012Love this film. Saw it for the first time many years ago and was so chuffed to be able to see it again. It is fabulous.
All the actors are excellent but particularly Anne Bancroft and, of course, Harvey Fierstein, who has the most gorgeous speaking voice.
Funny, sad and completely fantastic.
Look don't torchBy Emjay69 (341 reviews) from Kidlington, Oxford , 21 Sep 2011Not as good as I expected. I felt that it dragged on a bit. The acting was okay, as was the sets, but overall it was just another film.
Watch it; you might enjoy it. Others did.
What a great filmBy a customer from London , 18 Dec 2010Harvey/Arnold is fabulous - as is everyone else in it. A must-have - one of my favourite DVDs which I watch regularly. One of the most loveable cinematic characters there ever was (and he's pretty good live on stage too).
