arming the human race against the future.
By JediSi (301 reviews) from Kent , 08 Sep 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Torchwood is a spin-off from the highly popular 'Doctor Who' series. The series is about a group of renegade investigators of alien and human crime located in Cardiff in Wales. Starring John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, and Eve Myles as his sidekick Gwen Cooper.
Out Of Time:
A plane from the 1950s lands in modern Cardiff, courtesy of the Rift; the passengers are reoriented by the Torchwood team, who become drawn closely to their lives, only to leave again just as quickly as they arrived.
Combat:
Weevils are being abducted by humans. As Owen goes undercover to find out who is committing these crimes, he meets Mark Lynch. Facing demons of his own, Owen gets sucked into the fightclub-like subculture of which Lynch is a part.
Captain Jack Harkness:
Jack and Toshiko are transported back to the Blitz, while Owen tries to open the Rift, as Jack faces an unexpected secret from his past as they meet a handsome young American squadron leader named Captain Jack Harkness.
End Of Days:
The Rift fractures violently, setting the stage for an epic battle with Torchwood in the middle as they see echoes of the past and visions of the past.- Was this review helpful to you?

(23)Still great
By a customer , 22 Aug 2011Still a wonderful spin off from Dr. Who - the stories are a bit 'out of the box' sometimes but no problems from my point of view on that!- Was this review helpful to you?

Great Dr Who spinoff
By BKieser (36 reviews) from Brampton , 31 Dec 2009Torchwood isn't the same big budget production that Dr Who is, but it's a fantastic storyline and as a spin-off it stands on its own very well.
It deals with many social issues from relationships and homosexuality to more philosophical aspects of what the real world effect of alien technology would be.
Don't listen to the negative reviews here., It isn't Doctor Who, it's Torchwood. It stands on its own and once again the genius of Russel T Davies has given us a gem.- Was this review helpful to you?
