the dvd compilation was good but a drawback was the commmentary, there was music playing in the background ,during the commentary ,which i found irritating.otherwise the dvd provided a very concise glimpse of the 1992 tour.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 20 Aug 2012I love this era of cycling and if you can suspend your skepticism as to who was on 'bread and water' alone, there is much to enjoy. This presentation does however suffer in the context of cycling coverage today; it shows how we have got used to great, high-quality, multi-camera cycling TV coverage.
The most off-putting element, as others have observed, is the euro-synth dirge that accompanies the footage. This is at the expense of the far more atmospheric live audio (motos, crowds, car-horns etc) that is way down in the mix.
A great era of cycling but suffers from a dated style of presentation.- Was this review helpful to you?

20 Years Of Hindsight
By RickBn (36 reviews) from Edinburgh , 09 Dec 2011With nearly 20 years of hindsight I viewed this in a far different light to when I adivly watched on Channel 4 at the time. Those who have followed cycling closely will know how to react to Chiapucci's endless attacking, and though his win at Sestriere has gone down into tour folklore, I for one take it all with a good pinch of salt. We see Lemond shattered and disconsolate at both his own performance and the way he can see the sport is going. Phil Leggets commentary continauliy mentions the very high speeds, and whether at the time it was said with a warning or note of caution one cannot tell. Clearly by this time the EPO generation had kicked in big time.- Was this review helpful to you?
