Toy Story is the first fully computer-generated full-length feature film.
Set in Andy's bedroom, before the family moves house, his mother decides to throw a birthday party for him. Led by Woody, Andy's toys are all worried that the new birthday presents will replace them and, with the help of Sarge and his platoon of plastic soldiers, the toys begin a mission to find out exactly what Andys gifts are. All is going well with Andy receiving board games and a lunch box, and the toys all breathe a sigh of relief as they think its all over. Until a special gift is pulled from the cupboard. Enter, Buzz Lightyear. Buzz quickly becomes unwanted competition in the Andys favourite toy race, and Woody wont take it lying down and sets out to prevent Buzz becoming number one. Whilst Woody is concentrating on his efforts against Buzz, they both miss the all important moving day.
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen provided excellent voices for Woody and Buzz Lightyear -their performances alone are one of the biggest things that made this such a spectacular movie. Besides that, though, you have the excellent story that is not only noteworthy because it has never really been told from this perspective before, but also because it was just told so well. The computer animation used for this movie not only made it startlingly realistic but also opened up tons of possibilities, and thankfully the filmmakers chose to explore these possibilities.
Toy story truly is the turning point of kids films. Great stuff
This is one of those very good movies that are only put on DVD every 5 years or so. Toy Story 1 is a brilliant movie about a toy cowboy called Woody and a toy space ranger called Buzz Lightyear. The story goes that Woody is afraid that Buzz is going to replace him (Buzz was a birthday present) so Woody tries everything to try and make him go away, but by Woody tricking Buzz to kick himself out Andy's house, does that mean Woody is sacrificing himself?

I did not asked for the feature disk, and in the order form online is possible to select only the movie Disk, but you shipped the second one anyway.
I did the same with other James bond film, and I will see what happen.
I think is not fair, I ask for 2 DVD every month and you count the one i didn't ask as one.
This film is as funny now as it was when it first came out. A classic as far as children's movies go and my kids just can't stop watching it. Highly reccomeded to everyone.
Toy Story is a truly fantastic film that is great fun for all the family. With the excellent use of CGI (for the time) the film inspires thoughts of true childhood for everyone.
Toy Story 1 is a brilliant representation of the world from both a childs and now a Toys point of view and is a must see for all children, and adults!

The first film of its kind, a partnership between Pixar and Disney.
One of those very rare childrens films that can be watched over and over and you still see new details.
Some of the toys in this are timeless classics. There are toys and games that I remember having as a kid and toys that MY kids have now. At the time of its release it spurned a whole range of toys such as Buzz and it was something of a feat if you managed to get one.
The story is a simple one, with a bit of a message - PLAY NICE - bit of peril, action, rescue and enduring friendship.
An unprecedented array of characters combine their domestic squabbles with a mission to save the universe in a tale of self-actualization and imagination.
A top cartoon!

i love this film and so does everybody else. if you havent seen this where have you been for the last few years? in a hole? i luv rex he rocks
I think it is - even the animation holds up still today and that is saying something in this day in age where the world of CGI is a fast one.
The plot makes sence, the charaters are real and the music is enchanting, even two weeks later my youngest is still talking about Woody and that extra clip...what was it called? something like Tin man anyway, I don't think that any child would not sit down and watch it (well as much as a three year old does)Why don't you give it a go.
Watched the original film at the cinema years ago and despite all the hype and promotions it stands the test of time. High quality animation. Not bad story line and great humour.
Fun viewing for all the family
This is a top film for the kids. It kept my little one happy for ages.
