This is what box sets were invented for.

Every time one of these has come through the door, I've watched the entire disk the same day.
If you like music, get this set. I got these on blu ray and the superior uncompressed music reproduction really comes through, quite a bit of the music sounds like it was recorded live, and pretty much every type of americana is represented, although of course New Orleans jazz in all its various types is the most often represented.
The 11 episode arc allows a whole range of individual stories to be told along side the story of the city. As well as actors there are quite a few 'real' musicians and natives of New Orleans which gives it a naturalistic feel.
I think this second season is even better than the first: This is what blu ray and box sets were invented for. I guess I'll just have another year to wait until the next series gets released.- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)Treme Series 2
By kitchencat (3 reviews) , 05 Mar 2013A slow start, but once you get into it you really get engrossed in the lives of the characters. And the music is superb! (Made by the creators of 'The Wire', which failed to hold my interest sadly). Where 'The Wire' came across as a bit pointless, 'Treme' is an uplifting experience despite the occasional violence, and I highly recommend it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Classic HBO series
By a customer , 04 Feb 2013Endlessly watchable, feel-good television. People complain that there is no real story line. This is nonsense; simply slow burning, intricate tales of ordinary folk getting on with their lives in a tragedy hit city where music is central to everyday normality. Brilliant.- Was this review helpful to you?

Another classic to follow The Wire
By Rakewell (12 reviews) from London , 27 Oct 2012This series is a love letter to New Orleans, warts and all. You really care what happens to each of the well-drawn characters and the music is one of them. I can't wait for series 3!- Was this review helpful to you?

Where's the story?
By Scottishterrier (1 review) , 10 Jun 2012An American president said 'Where's the beef?' when he was commenting on an opponents politics. That just about sums up the , the DY is cutting a new recordsecond series of Treme. The first series was a slow burner and I really looked forward to the second series and seeing how the lives of the characters developed and interacted. Big disappointment. The second series has just become a parade of musical acts , of varying degrees of ability, with small amounts of plot . Even the plot lines are repetitive - the Indians are still sewing, the lawyer has a new client whose son died in mysterious circumstances, the dj is cutting a record- Was this review helpful to you?

The truth
By TheIdiotSpeaks (6 reviews) from London , 30 May 2012What I don't understand about this series (and the first one for that matter) is why every character is, to put it bluntly, f*****g annoying.- Was this review helpful to you?
