Tropic Thunder has taken the number one slot on the UK box office chart after just one week on release. The comedy - starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr - pulled in nearly £2.5 million to become the nation's top film of the week. Ben Stiller's new comedy Tropic Thunder has remained at the top of the US box office for the third consecutive week. Pulling in some $11.5 million (£6.4 million)in the last week, the movie features Stiller, Robert Downey Jr and Jack Black as a group of actors attempting to make a Vietnam movie. Tropic Thunder has remained at number one on the North American box office for its second weekend. Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr and Jack Black head the cast of the comedy, which took $16.1 million (£8.7 million) during its second week on release. Tropic Thunder has knocked The Dark Knight from the top of the US box office.
