    [Highly rated reviewer]

    sexy as ever...

    witty as ever...FantaBulous!!!!!

There has been alot of moaning from fans and critics simply in my opinion because the season finale doesnt give us all answers waiting for and are pissed to have to wait for season 4 but I cant help it, I am a die hard trubie and thought it was brilliant. I would watch the series and NOT read or listen to any bad / negative press before you have seen the whole series - I dont think I could be put off True Blood if you tried but I love the show so much I dont want people to read bad reviews and decide not to bother watching!

If you are a true fan, I believe you will love it, there are small areas where i thought 'eh???' 'no-way!!!!' and 'come on already' but I find that throughout the series I was saying 'ohh!!!' and 'of course!!!' the positives, brilliant new characters and revelations are too good to dwell on them =]

Yep we do find out about Sam's real family, What Bill is upto, and just what sookie is 'what are you???' (this is the best one teehee!!!)

and of course there are more and more questions to be answered. I dont want to spoil anything for you, not knowing before hand and finding out episode by episode adds to the greatness!!!

I still no matter what other people say about season 3 love it and cannot wait till season 4 is available =] =] =] If you dont love it, then I would be truely shocked!!!!

First ten minutes: gory violence to shock. Next 20: catching up with the 8-10 story lines that are being 'developed' Then, five minutes more violence or sex to keep you watching. End with a sudden twist to keep you wanting more. Yawn. Oh, and watch the dollars roll in from people falling for it.

To be fair, this is not as good as the earlier series but still well worth a watch. Can't wait for the next installment.

  • Amazing and Addictive

i love it, its a great series, my only question is, Is there a 5th series? i have just seen a episode titled ' everyone wants to rule the world' and i dont remember seeing it and i have watched every episode, i am glad they have taken out some of the more adult natured stuff coz i really like the story line, i was slightly put off by the amount that was in series 1 but still couldnt stop myself from watching it because of the story line, very addictive, want to see more please.

If you like stuff to do with vamps, mine readers and other supernatural creaters that appear to be human then you will love it, its a very good story and it helps that some of the actors are really good looking.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHide

Ho hum, still lots and lots of 4 and 5 stars, and I do get where they're coming from. True Blood *is* addictive and true fans tend to forgive a lot. Personally, I still enjoyed season 3, but nonetheless felt it didn't match the first two.

Perhaps it's a matter of things wearing a bit thin and, at the same time, everything getting a bit convoluted. The beauty of the original premise - what if vampires existed and began living among humans as more or less ordinary guys? - is no longer developed. Instead, virtually everything and everybody is somehow supernatural - a swirl of shifters, werewolves, werepanthers, fairies, sorcerers... I find that this reduces, rather than adds interest because too much becomes possible with too few narrative constraints.

More specifically to season 3, I found the werewolves quite a let-down. Fine, you get to see a lot of buff guys in the nude, which I don't object to at all, but they are so lame! Easily killed even by junior vampires (despite protestations of the script to the contrary) and, really, they are just less talented shape-shifters. Why is Russell Edgington leading them? What does he need them for? They seem utterly useless and incompetent.

And what, oh what happend to Tara? She was one of my favourite characters, troubled, but complex; but now she is only grating - shrieking, shivering, suffering... I so hope they can do something better with her in season 4!

That said, there is also a lot of good stuff - Eric's character is developed quite a lot, Russell Edgington is good fun, Sam's backstory is explained and then arrested at a neat cliffhanger - so I'll still be watching the next season.

  • Sookie Stackhouse.. marry me! :)

Oh, yes. Sookie Stackhouse, Bill Compton and Sam Merlott.

Three names that once you've watched this, will stick in your head forevermore.

There's nothing more I really should say.. but vampires, warewolves, shape-shifters, demonic priests and all set in a nice, quiet town in the south of the USA.

The vampires basically made themselves known to the world once a blood-substitute was invented which mate it viable for them to live in society.

This is NO Twilight.. the vampires can't hang around at day-time.

LOTS of violence, sex, swearing and the like.. but once you've watched it.. you'll know why it's needed.

Another 5-star effort from HBO. I think I should just buy shares in them :)
