This was a beautifully made series. It had a real atmosphere about it. Challenging stories, truthfully acted in a spare and economic way. ideas are conveyed in a unique visual way. It's an unusual and incredibly filmic series. One of a kind really. Great performances, and music that really works with the emotions of the characters. I highly recommend. (3)David Tennant? Not his finest performance.
By will_w (6 reviews) , 12 May 2013Admittedly I only watched the first episode, but I was too disappointed to watch the rest. David Tennant is a fine actor but he does not fit the part in my opinion and the plot is desperately thin and utterly unbelievable. If you enjoy slow-moving romantic dramas this might be right up your street, but I would not recommend renting the DVD simply on the grounds of seeing David Tennant!- Was this review helpful to you?

True Bore
By a customer , 03 Jul 2012In my considered opinon, True Love is a dull and disjointed series, it was advertised wrongly.
I am a fan of David Tennant and I think he should have not taken this part. Although I only saw his and Billies' episodes I cast a judgement that it should never have been commissioned Jane Horrocks (The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard) is an actor I have got respect for and should not have taken the part as well as the two others mentioned.
The episodes I saw just didn't show all the connections Billie Pipers' episode finishes abruptly as does Tennants' and was in need of another 30 mins of story.
