    Academy Award winning director Anthony Minghella has died at the age of 54, his agent has reportedly announced. According to the Guardian, Minghella passed away early this morning after suffering a haemorrhage. Last week, he underwent an operation to tackle cancer in his tonsils and neck, the paper said.
