    Vintage BBC children's entertainment

    Who could ever forget those immortal words, 'Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grub'? And off go the firemen, led by their undaunted leader Captain Flack, to another emergency. Will they be rescuing a window-cleaner from Miss Lovelace's roof, removing a pot of grey paint from the clock face or crowning the queen? Here are thirteen classic tales of the legendary country town of Trumpton from the heady days of the 1960s. If you can remember the Beatles but not Muffin the Mule, this is a nostalgic trip back to your childhood, complete with occasional flickers and sound moving out of sync. But right-on modern kids will like these laid-back tales too (at least, a teenager in this household does). Sing along again to those classic '60s numbers: 'I like my job as a carpenter', 'Ting-a-ling-a-ling-a-ling, it's the icecream man', 'A hat for a young girl' and many, many more! Relive those days when mad pekes could run amok in the streets without having an ASBO brought against them, Post Office Telephones regularly crossed wires, and mayors had real power.

    not bad at all

    but its only because i remember it from my past

    todays kids might not be too im pressed

    but its got some great songs to sing a long too
