Hilarious spoof comedyBy fredrockz (33 reviews) from Portsmouth , 08 Mar 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]This wonderful film is a tongue in cheek comedy horror. Two hillbillies (one being the fabulous Alan Tudyk from Firefly and Dollhouse) buy their very own run down shack out in the woods and set off in excitement to get it up to scratch and enjoy a spot of fishing. Unfortunately for them, a group of kids on spring break decide to go camping in the same woods and after seeing the lovely hillbillies, make their own judgement that they are evil and might want to harm them. The college kids go mad and begin killing themselves all over the place, making it look like it was the poor unsusp[ecting hillbillies! A must see

"OMG they cut off his bowling fingers"By Riain (121 reviews) from Essex , 27 Sep 2012The title of my review sums it up for me. I laughed with tears.
This is a yarn about prejudice and the consequent misunderstandings that follow lead to a lot of mayhem.
Dale and Tucker are regular guys who shine...
There may have been guts, blood and gore but there was plenty of laughter in our house and there were no scarey bits, bits ha to you get it...bits, ha ha ha :-))
And I loved the music, is there a soundtrack to this movie?

Horror & Humour In Equal Amounts!By HDSteve (2 reviews) from Hemel Hempstead , 04 Sep 2012Very very funny, delivered brilliantly deadpan. A bit slapstick and stereotypical, a bit 'Deliverance', a bit 'American Pie', very gory. You can see almost what's coming in most scenes, the main premise being characters mistake what they see. Things happen innocently enough but what eventually happens is outrageously over the top and usually bloody! Laughed all the way through.
Original idea and it worksBy Brodsky (16 reviews) , 02 Sep 2012Good send up of the genre where a group of good looking, young, articulate students get chopped up by some form of locals when all they wanted to do was simply try to drive through a rural area. They never even intended to get out of the car, they were just driving from one urban centre to another.
In this case its all death by accident though. Modern computer effects mean the imaginative death scenes really do make you wince, And laugh.
The comic ingredients are all there; disagreements between Tucker & Dale the foils of the tale; the slapstick; the self absorbed beauties. And with Ticker and Dale partly the victims there is still room for a bad guy in the form of Chad, the arrogant and annoying self appointed leader of the students.
Of course the film is supposed to be about the genre. In fact the top cause of a sticky end to studies for our young is suicide, drugs or drink being a close second. In the rare case that they are murdered by someone outside their social circle the perpetrator is in urban proximity but lower down the social order. And that would mean making a film about race or class. Horror and spoof doesn't do that. This one doesn't even ask why its OK to keep making films where rural locals are psychopathic killers.
Too serious? Fair enough you're probably right. A funny film, no two ways.
Great funBy a customer , 28 Aug 2012My wife cringed when she heard the title of the film and expected this to be utter rubbish. Had the whole family in tears with laughter. Great film.
