This is much better than I thought it was going to be: solid middle-period Hollywood with plenty of action. The prologue and epilogue delivered by Chill Wills along with the film's general theme of conservation are interesting when viewed from today's perspective, and the whole thing was like a Western with disputes between cattlemen and sheep farmers replaced by disputes between cattlemen and oil men. Susan Hayward rips it up in the lead, and the whole thing, despite some fairly primitive special effects and a rather washed-out print, is very enjoyable.
