    [Highly rated reviewer]

I remember this being released and the surrounding buzz at the oscars back in 1999. Well, the buzz was well deserved as this is an incredibly watchable, touching and heart rending tale, of a mother who quits town as soon as her latest (destructive)relationship break down. Accompanying her on her journey is her daughter, fantastically played by the young actress.

Janet McTeers performance is incredible and the whole film is superb from beginning to end.

Do not pass this one up, whatever you do.

A highly enjoyable watch. Fantastic performances from Janet McTeer and the young Kimberley Brown. A touching examination of Human needs and the freedom of independence. Fantastic and great music soundtrack to boot.
