Yet another story about black people from the projects trying to make it big in life, whether it's through crime or legal ways. Ja Rule and Pras, two major hip hop stars, play the role of life long friends desperate to make their fortune. Both of them are rappers and realise that this is the best way forward, but how will they finance this project?

The plot is quite interesting but highly predictable. There is however a nice amount of action and drama in this film, and with the added bonus of Jason Stratham, 'Turn It Up' ends up as a nicely rounded movie.
