  • Disappointed.

Wanting to see this when it came out, it didn't arrive on our cinemas so once again I had to wait and it finally came out on dvd so I rented it out. Hoping that it would be good as it has the excellent men from Life On Mars, I was left seriously disappointed. A story that didn't really make a lot of sense, the charaters are poorly written and a running time that was shocklly short. Not even Philip Glenister and John Simm can really save this film, they hardly talked to one another in the film and they just didn't suit the role of bank robbers. The coolest thing was they had their wifes in the film as well which was okay but their roles was very thin. The director has made a huge mess of this film, so much promise but it came out with a massive disappointment. Only recommended if you like cops and robbers but you won't get much here.

I think it's been under rated. A good little storyline with a bit of a twist. Solid, decent performances from the whole cast. Don't judge a film by its rating.

  • Don't be put off by the low rating - It is worth a watch

I was going to give this one a miss going by the rating and other reviews but I'm glad that I didn't. It is quite good, some funny moments and one big twist at the end.

If you're looking for a movie that isn't too heavy or long-winded then this could be one to watch. Good story, strong performances by all of the cast - I don't think I can think of any negatives to write about it.

Trying so very hard to be mix of Hustle and Heist, right down the the opening credits; Hustle, through and through, except without any of the zing. Top notch cast couldn't save this film. Serious problems with production and directing. Too bad.

I really wanted to like this film - am a huge fan of Phil Glenister. But neither he or John Simm can save this film. I can see that it is trying to be a gangster/cops and robbers film and like a lot of British movies of this genre it is gritty at times. For me though its biggest fault is that it is downright dull. Too many stories to tie together and we never get to know the characters much less care about them. Glenister is trying hard not to be Gene Hunt but some of his lines sound like they are straight out of Life on Mars. Even the exciting bits when they are in the middle of pulling off a robbery are boring! Don't bother unless massive fan of the genre.

  • Tuesday - Life on Mars it ain't

The makers of this film were no doubt trying to cash in on the success of Life on Mars by casting it's stars. Lightning doesn't strike twice.

Poor script, laughable dialogue and lackluster performances - the normally fabulous John Simm looks like he doesn't want to be there - he should have gone with that instinct - a stinker!
