Most helpful review
Something a little bit different.By Not so Silent Bob from Edinburgh , 27 Sep 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]Now this might not be everyone's cuppa. However it is original and well directed. The soundtrack effectively compliments the action and I was well impressed with all involved. Be brave and enjoy.

the kinda film you watch in what kind of mood your inBy a customer , 07 Oct 2011to be honest i took an interest in this film because of brad pitt he's one of the greatest actors in hollywood history so the film it self is a kinda film you watch depending on what mood your in but what i liked about the movie is how it all fit together it can be hard to make a interesting story in a mental home
Nearly but not quiteBy a customer , 07 Oct 2011Like most other reviewers I saw this film several years ago when it was released and decided to give it another look. I managed to follow the storyline much easier this time around but felt the film was spoiled to some extent by the overacting of Brad Pitt in particular and also of Bruce Willis.
Worth a second look but not brilliant.
Terry pulls it off (phew!)By docboz (26 reviews) from WELLS , 16 Sep 2011Terry Gilliam is a great director, and this is a truly great film, but watching the making of material with this DVD one can see why he has such a mixed reputation and why many of his films don't quite work.
But this one does. Its a great story and Gilliam's approach gives the story a stronger twist than many directors would have, but gets away with it. Also noteworthy for a smoking hot performance from Brad Pitt in the kind of role that his later success closed to him. We had to wait for 'Fight Club' and 'Burn After Reading' to see him doing anything quite so interesting again. And what a suprise to see that Bruce Willis is an ACTOR!
Just a word of warning - you need to pay attention, things are not spelt out. You will need to use your imagination and intelligence - and the Making Of material is also facinating on how the film nearly got mauled because the test screening audience couldn't process it neatly and quickly by the time they reached the foyer to fill in those Art-destroying questionnaires.

Different but predictableBy a customer , 09 Aug 2011Interesting storyline in that it was a bit different to the usual however the ending was too predictable infact I got it very soon into the film and I am not renowned for my perception.
Still, kept us entertained for the full film unlike some others.
