  • Good but Nothing Special!

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Whilst I enjoyed this movie it didnt deliver anything special.

Parties, Drug Dealing, Individuals with their own issues. Real life I suppose, but I expected more twists.

What this film does do well is to split off from reality now and again with some scenes shot in random sets. Very clever.

Worth watching but it wont blow you away.

  • Easy money for Jack Bauer!

    Rated - 1.5 stars
    By Jonkey (14 reviews) , 07 Dec 2012
I'm beginning to get annoyed that all the reviews I've written have been negative and this one is no different! This film was strange, it had no structure, and I've come away thinking - that was a waste of time because nothing really happened. As one reviewer has already stated, the character development is terrible which is probably one of the reasons for my view above. The only good thing about the film was that it was narrated by Jack Bauer!! After all his now legendary antics in 24, I suspect this will be the easiest buck he's ever made!

  • Rich kids in America

It's one fo those films where most of the characters are horrible and you almsot hope for their demise. It is the usual story of rich kids with dysfunctional parents and too much money. Spoilt kids buying drugs - nothing new really. it's an ok film nothing mroe.

'Twelve' is a liquid drug, that according to its users is a combination between cocaine and ecstasy.

Meet 'White Mike' (Chace Crawford) once rich and privileged but now a school drop-out due to all the family money going to pay for his mother's cancer treatments; his mother unfortunately dies.

Mike now has to make his own money, by drug dealing to the crowd he was once part of.

'Twelve' is very stylised in parts and has narration from Kiefer Sutherland, which gives this film an edge.

Mike's cousin Charlie gets killed by Lionel the drug dealer (50 cent) from the ghetto who supplies Mike with the weed he sells; and in the crossfire another guy Nana is killed as he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Through the other guys death, Mike's best friend (Hunter) gets accused of the murder, as they found Nana's blood on him (but this was only because they were both playing basketball together and got into a fight!). We don't see what happens to Hunter, which is a bit annoying!

Anyway to cut a long story short, the film follows White Mike around and we learn about the other characters by Mike's interaction with them, and their interaction with each other.

There's parties, drugs, drinking, shopping, money, shootings, accidents and this is all within 3 days of their lives.
