Most helpful review Twenty Twelve - Series 1

  • Exceptional and worryingly believable.

    [Highly rated reviewer]

    A perfect comedy.

Exceptionally well scripted and acted - the casting is genius. Nobody lets it down. Jessica Hynes is mesmerisingly vacuous, Olivia Coleman manages to ooze passive-aggressive devotion, Hugh Bonneville is perfectly cast as a sensible man surrounded by idiots and on the verge of punching somebody and David Tennant's dead pan narration is outstanding.

So much of the time, when watching this, I would miss lines because I was laughing so much. One of the finest pieces of comedy to grace our TV in some time. If you haven't seen it yet, hit that 'RENT' button.

My only concern is my suspicion that this is far too close to the truth for comfort.

A useless attempt at a micky take. Not funny at all, not informative, not satirical, not anything!! Why did they make more than one episode, let alone more than one series?

Simply comedy at it's best. Gentle but brutal, incisive, achingly funny, topical but not political, from the minutiae to the bigger issues.....

The script is brilliant, the casting perfect, the acting note perfect. Not played for laughs, but impossible not to laugh out loud.

This is perfect comedy, please don't miss it.

Oh yes, and no laughter lines.

    Praise the BBC.

If you are considering this to rent; just do it, you will not regret it. I caught one episode on TV and decided to rent the whole series. It is a blistering view of all the things that are inept in our society today and I'm sure, like me, many will recognise the characters from our own working spheres. As a previous reviewer said it is frightening real.

Absolutely brilliant and I sincerely hope that another series is in the pipeline.
