bloody brill...

i really like the Twilight saga, (Breaking Dawn was a bit of a let-down) and i love all the clips on youtube, can't wait to see the film.

FANG-LESS VAMPIRES ???!!!!!!!

My mind is still not made up about his one. It does not completely disappoint the book as it is often the case with books’ adaptations. Some scenes that were changed from the book I even thought it looked better (such as when and where Bella reveals to Edward that she knows the truth about him). However if you go to watch a film about vampires, the last thing you expect to see are vampires WITH NO FANGS!!! Honestly… We all know how much film makers try desperately to make ‘another original’ vampire story – every new vampire film changes the vampires a little, making them resilient to sun light, crosses, etc., making up other ways to kill vampires (even making fire arms vital to them). However none of them, even the dumbest one, tried to portray a vampire fang-less!! This is most idiotic idea I’d ever seen! You can forget or change all the other ‘vampire characteristics’ but fangs are what define a vampire! Come on......!!!

I went to see this film the weekend it opened and I was really impressed,( you need to actually go and see a film before writing a review!)

I am a fan of the books even though I only discovered them in November and i have to say that the film stays true to the book. Yes this film could of looked better in places if they had more money for graphics and effects but it only had a small budget, I think the film was cast really well and Rob and Kirsten have great chemistry. Im sure you will all be pleased to read that Summit Entertainment have already started production on the second movie in the series New Moon as Twilight hit box office records in America with the largest ever opening weekend for a female director (the last time was 1997's Deep Impact) So they must be doing something right!!!!

Go see it decide for yourself I loved it and actually went back to see it again!!

Please dont listen to peoples reviews when they haven't taken the time to bother watching the film!!

Twilight the film might not convert anyone not already bitten by the popularity of the books, but for us fans there's plenty to both enjoy and discuss. Seeing it in a scereen filled of fans made for a great experience (cheers for Bella being clumsy, whistles for Edwards,and laughs at poor Jasper who really does just look like he is in pain) but I am sure that this will be just as enjoyable on DVD.

some of the effects are a bit naff, granted, and I think both Jasper and Alice were poorly casted, but some scenes are actuallt just as magic as they were in the books, and capturing just some of that makes the film worth seeing!

Can't stop thinking about it!

I went to see this film yesterday and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. I'm going back to see it next week.

Having never read the books I don't have much to compare it to, maybe for loyal fans of the book it could be a disappointment, but for me I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was sick of seeing the same old boring chick flicks about break ups or something or another, this was a great change with a gorgeous love story and something really different by incorporating the vampires.

I couldn't think of anyone better to play the part of Edward than Robert Pattinson, he played his character amazingly well, and is absolutley gorgeous.

I would recommend this to anyone, i couldn't fault it, and can't wait for the next ones!

Vampires??!

I cannot see how anyone, other than a 13 year old school girl, could possibly enjoy this film?!

Braindead is how it leaves you!

Sometimes I wonder if I was watching the same film as the 4star and 5star reviewers. I thought it was completely dreadful. I haven't read the book so I cannot compare it to that, and my gripe is not the 'lack of fangs' - this point is hardly worth quibbling about considering everything else that was so wrong with the movie. Didn't anyone notice how tedious it was from start to finish? You sit there wondering - when is this film going to get going? Become exciting? Start to be entertaining? Where is the sophisticated development of this human-vampire relationship? The gripping lovestory that makes you nostalgic of the time you were enveloped in the euphoria of first love? The answer to all these questions is resoundingly negative. At best there were elements of teenage 'sickliness' but that's no plus. The film is slow and dragging, with a poor and uneventful plot. I fear it's just an attempt to set up the characters and viewer for the sequels, and lacks any substance of its own. The characters are 2-dimensional, predictable, bland and awkward, as is the whole movie ... and then it ends. There are small mercies after all!

Amazing!

Well what can I say... could a film ever like up to a book this good?!? Well yes actually! In fact, other than the usual gripes about a few things being different to the book and not having everything in the film, it was amazingly true to the book and several times you could pick out lines straight from the book. And they flowed well. As a huge Twilight Saga fan, I would have liked the film to be longer... but being a fan I would have sat there for hours! So as that is impossible, the film really was brilliant. The casting is fab, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were without a doubt the best choice for Edward and Bella. The only negative point was the occasionally laugh out loud white faces of the Cullen family, but that wasn't really a negative! So all I can say is DEFINATELY see this film and if not read the book!! If you are unsure of the plot (where have you been) it's the best love story/good vs evil/vampire film ever, surrounding the lives of teenagers and century old vampires. Wonderful!

Twilight Review

Twilight begins with 17 year old Bella, moving to Forks, a small town located in north western USA. She finds herself captivated by the handsome Edward and soon discovering that he and his family are vampires. So it sounds awfully like it’s aimed at teenage girls. That’s because it is. However the onscreen romance between the films two central characters, Bella and Edward, plays out with such tender affection and excellent pacing, that issues of age and gender soon become irrelevant. While at times Robert Pattison (Edward) is unable to give weight to thirst for Bella’s blood that his character is constantly fighting against, his performance is on the whole utterly convincing. The delicate portrayal of Bella, by Kristen Stewart is equally solid and believable. Unfortunately her efforts are often undermined by the film-makers frequent use of expositional voice over.

With an on screen chemistry that goes deeper than your typical sexually charged teen movie, while not too challenging, is refreshing. And director Catherine Hardwicke does well not to rely too heavily on emotional investment from the audience to drive the plot forward. Introducing a trio of some not so wholesome day walkers from the films open shot, a firmly rooted undertone of threat spans the entire film.

Even if you see Twilight seeking tradition horror, to be disappointed by Meyer’s rather refreshing revamp of the vampire mythology; the picturesque landscapes beautifully depicted throughout are an undeniably enjoyable cinematic experience. Ultimately Twilight is a very faithful and well composed adaptation of a highly successful book.

If you are looking for a vampire film full of endless action, special effects, blood and gore then this is not the film for you. This film has a good story line and it's main focus is the love between a human and a vampire. I have read the book and think the film is a good portrayal of this. No, the vampires do not appear to have fangs, but they are trying to pass as human and mingle in the community. I fear, some people have lost the use of their imagination after watching to many films with special effects! With this film you have to use your imagination! It is explained that when they hunt they turn into monsters, maybe their teeth alter during a frenzied attack! It's the fear of what could happen to the human girl if limits are pushed too far that makes it a good concept. If you like a good story it's well worth a look!
