A glossy but laughably melodramatic TV movie that features two unconvincing performances from Stepfanie Kramer. She stars as twins, one of whom is caught up in a murderous intrigue when she foolishly tries to find out what has happened to her wayward sister. James Brolin sleepwalks through his supporting role while third-billed Frederic Forrest — Oscar-nominated for his performance in 1979's The Rose — is clearly slumming. Sadly, this would-be thriller is fatally short of both suspense and surprises.

    Excellent

This story is beautifully done. It is the story of twin sisters separated during childhood. One goes to live in Holland and the other in Germany. They meet again during WWII and later when they are very old. I highly recommend this movie to anyone, even if you have not read the book first. Don't let the idea of subtitles stop you from watching this one.!
