This films demonstrates that the divide good and pants is only a very narrow one.......this could have been dire, but somehow its a compelling view, one of the few films I revisit when I have nothing else to watch........Loved it and no, I'm not sure why!

This is one of those classic blockbusters that stands the test of time fifteen years later.

The Blu-Ray only enhances what makes this movie a classic, an amazing transfer that enhances some of the admittedly outdated effects work, yet enhances dialogue that may have been missed the first time around, especially on VHS and then on DVD.

The script remains a little forced and the ADR work is still

a little painful at times, however this remains as benchmark blockbuster and as such is worth renting on Blu-Ray and then as a definitive purchase.

I can not comment on the supplemental material as I watched the main feature only, however it does seem to be quite extensive.

A quality transfer for a quality film.

The love triangle sub-plot is sooooo dismal. I mean, I'm enjoying using it with my lovely Year 10's as a way of 'How to spot the tricks film-makers use. 'Miss, miss, she's wearing a white suit and a lot of hair lacquer, does that mean she's more uptight than the other woman? Oh, I get it miss; he's taken his suit jacket off now - does that mean he's getting more like the rest of the old crew?'. The storms, of course, are great - as I accidentally discovered when my disc drive during our first lesson failed and we watched the first five minutes with sound only, no visuals. The kids were astounded (and more than a little frightened, truth be told!); the music superb. But the rest. Oh dear. Even the storms get a little wearing in the end. Could have been an hour shorter, at least two actors fewer (please, please, not more Bill Paxton grimacing woodenly), one love triangle less, and even better, in my opinion. I think the Lego version just about edges it for me.

I like meteorology and hadn't seen this film in years so decided to Blu-ray it. I'd forgotten just how 'Hollywooded' it was with a ridiculous divorce/love theme between Hunt and Paxton with the ditsy wife to be along for the storm chasing ride. The effects fot that time were good but little else unfortunately was. Also made me chuckle how the tornadoes seemed to 'chuck' out everything onto a small strip of road in front of them, including a house, combine harvesters, tractor etc and also the f5 tornado hardly caused a breath of wind when they were unloading 'Dorothy' before it got hit by a tree.. If you haven't seen it worth a watch once and that's about it.

This film was far better than i remembered and the addition of blu ray really does make the film stand out. This film has amazing special effects that still shock now, include an amazing picture and this makes for a good night in.
