Goodness! This is possibly the most depressing film I have ever seen and it's supposed to be a story about a man torn between two lovers! Sombre and extremely boring...I would say avoid this film like the plague.
All the actors tried really hard with this but the words just don't get off the page with enough energy to keep you interested, never mind keeping you awake. The Jewish family tensions & parental expectations have been well covered in earlier films - this one had very little new to say and ran into a dead end, with a too obvious 'Plan B' adopted by Leonard - but who could blame him, a life in the Dry Cleaning business was as exciting as it got. One perhaps for a rainy afternoon - but suggest doing those over due DIY jobs would be more satisfying!.
good rom drama
wasnt really sure what was gonna happen at the end
i like that about films
absolutely borintg lasted ten minutes before I put it back in the post
The actors are too old for the parts. It struck me as a film made one afternoon when nobody had anything else to do. The story is a well known rehash. My wife was ill when we watched this otherwise we would never have finished this trite mess.

Nice, geeky Jewish guy who lives with loving parents has fling with blonde, unstable neighbour and cheats on good Jewish girlfriend. That's the whole of the plot. The pace is drearily slow and the script could have been written by an eight-year old.
It is so disappointing because I love Joaquin Phoenix but even he couldn't save this film from boring itself to death. The soundtrack is so fuzzy you'll have to turn up the volume to catch what is being said but have the zapper handy to turn down for the love scenes when they make enough noise to frighten the neighbours. In the end he settles for Plan B and I'm not spoiling it by telling you what. But don't expect any surprises.
This film is boring!
It deals with the complex ideas of love in a more honest way than most films do, but its a movie and you want a little more drama, something to compele you to watch it!
It is very depressing.
Joaquin Phoenix plays a man who appears to have few to no socail skills. After the break up of his engagement he is living back with his parents and is depressed. His new neighbour (Gwyneth Paltrow) is the girl of his dreams and he falls in love with her. Whilst he is trying his hardest to bed her, there is a poor girl ready to actually love him.The film ends the way you know it will the moment Leonard meets Michelle.
It is very predictable and although sometimes simple movies are what you need, this is just a little too dull.
Sooo dull, depressing and boring. Switched it off before the end and we dont do that very often..!!!

very long winded. Nothing much happens. Takes too long to get into. would not recommend
This is the worst film i have ever watched!
Boring, slow and has no real story line.
I had higher expectations and i ended up turning it off near the end!!
