LOVEFiLM Review Tyrannosaur

  • 5 stars out of 5

Paddy Considine's directorial feature film debut is so powerfully played that by the time it's over you'll be gasping for air.

This is not a film that is easy to watch or easy to forget. It's raw and intense with career defining performances from Peter Mullen and Olivia Coleman. A very well made film

Rubbish. I wasted over an hour watching this film. The story can be made in 15 minutes but all kinds of unnecessary made up scenes were created just to call it a movie. Judge it when you watch it.

One of the few films that made me cry for a good 15 minutes.. emotionally draining but to me that is a sign of a brilliant film. It drew me in,impressed me, broke me and then put me together again. Loved it.

  • Remarkable and depressing

I started to watch this many times and gave up a few minutes in, but I finally persevered long enough to get hooked. Powerful performances prop up an apparently simple storyline about casual violence. Hard to watch and depressing, but a very worthwhile journey.

  • Uncomfortable at times but superb and very thought provoking

There are some brutal and uncomfortable moments sure, but it was very absorbing and the twist at the end really raises questions about sterotypes and prejudging society's moral values. Brialliantly observed and produced. Unfortunately, my wife thought she was getting a romcom but in spite of the uncomfortable bits was deeply drawn in.

Kitchen sink that doesn't get more gritty than this. A powerhouse performance from everyone involved, especially Oliva Coleman. How she didn't get an Oscar for this is beyond me. A great directing debut from Paddy Consindine, hopefully more like this in the pipeline.
