Paddy Considine's directorial feature film debut is so powerfully played that by the time it's over you'll be gasping for air.

[Highly rated reviewer]This is not a film that is easy to watch or easy to forget. It's raw and intense with career defining performances from Peter Mullen and Olivia Coleman. A very well made film

Not for the fainthearted!By salbar (1 review) , 22 Aug 2013There were times during this film when it became almost unbearable to watch, but the casting and the acting is so good, that I remained utterly gripped from start to finish. Olivia Coleman is quite incredible, as are Peter Mullen and Eddie Marsan. I would sum this film up in three words - disturbing, shocking, compelling.
A must see film!By Erasedcitizen (21 reviews) , 16 Aug 2013A must see film! A powerful, gripping but deeply harrowing film with simply sensational acting from Olivia Coleman & Peter Mullan. Superb!
Real human beingsBy a customer , 12 Aug 2013I watch most of this sat taut, upright and the rest of it standing up. Gripped! It reached out right into my heart from all the grit.
so touchingBy a customer , 12 Aug 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHidethis is such a wonderful film- so emotional and touching. the acting was flawless to me and so was the story told- made me cry and the ending gave me hope. i could relate to the characters too. the negative comments should be ignored- definitely recommend, but warning- not for the lighthearted!!!
Don't watch this on a "low" day!!!By a customer , 10 Aug 2013Heavy, depressing and, at times, uncomfortable viewing. However, I think that this is exactly what it set out to achieve so these are not criticisms. Peter Mullan is, yet again, stunningly believable and emotionally manipulative. This man really is a superb actor.
