Tyson- Open and revealing!By a customer from London , 21 Oct 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]Saw Tyson today as a part of the BFI London Film Festival and was knocked out.
Iron Mike Tyson is perhaps most famous for being infamous than famous. His life has been shaded with contraversy. He has been idolised and also villified and this film seeks to explore the man behind the stories. Director James Toback presents his friend talking about all aspects of his life from his troubled youth, to the heights of his career and the lows of his life. Tyson is the sole voice of the film which makes it all the more interesting and effective as we see how vulnerable and complex a character he is. The story he tells is both heartbreaking and funny. There are some very clever techniques used within the documentary which add to the intrigue. Most of all the film keeps you watching it's hard not to be touched and to feel empathy towards a man some perhaps still loathe. However, for others he will remain one of the greatest sportsman of all time and this film goes a long way to showing what the world of sport lost when Tyson left the sport.

Great Story!By shalinsfinest (2 reviews) , 30 Dec 2011Forget about the media presentation of tyson, this is a real reflection of the real tyson, a human being who has grown up and became wiser. We all make mistakes in the past, but we are whom we are, the future is what really matters. This movie was really good, and teaches a lesson. I highly recommend it !!
Roller-coaster life of Iron Mike.By a customer , 25 Dec 2011Enjoyed watching this, always liked Mike Tyson in-ring performances. Having not seen any other documentary on Mike. This was very informative, starting from before he started boxing as an amateur, how he became the youngest world heavy weight champion, his downfall, prison and his missing fortune. If you don't know the facts of Mike's life, you should check this one out. Mike Tyson was an executive producer for this DVD and his friend shot it. So you can believe this to be his version of the truth.
Iron Tyson or IS he?By TKP (2 reviews) , 11 Dec 2011This is a documentary which shows an honest and sincere side of Mike Tyson with an inside look of his mistakes, victories and regrets.
I found it real and exciting. Being the youngest ever heavyweight world champion of the world only at the age 20 was not as easy to handle as his opponents inside the ring I suppose!!!
'Tyson' fails to deliver.By Sammydii (8 reviews) , 25 Nov 2011As a boxing fan I had been looking forward to (but had never got round to) seeing this movie. It promises a lot but really delivers a little.
As a character I have really enjoyed listening to Mike Tyson over the years but this movie/documentary offers nothing new and at times is overly self indulgent.
I was utterly disappointed in this. I really dont see why a film had to be made out of this? There have been a 1001 Documentaries about Tysons life over the years and this really is no different.

Fantastic recollection of Tyson's lifeBy pramcaptain (6 reviews) from London , 29 Aug 2011The title says it all. Really enjoyable and gripping set of interviews with Mike Tyson, as he recollects the story of his life so far. If you are a boxing novice or a fan, you will thoroughly enjoy this movie.
