War of the worlds on the very cheap!By a customer , 03 Oct 2013Terrible! A waste of 90 mins. of my life watching this, never to be retrieved. Totally pointless! Edge of the seat stuff, waiting for something to happen, which it never does!
Good-ish Idea, not so good filmBy CarnageAce (94 reviews) , 22 Sep 2013This film tried to be clever and failed to point of confusion, once i worked out what it was trying to do i thought the idea was good but the skills of the director, editor and screen writer were not up to the task. This film had a hectic style but didn't deleiver a good enough pay off for the audience.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideWhat in the name of **** was that all about? So, the power is out, nothing works any where? OK. So then how do car ignitions and radios work and the supermarket dude's mobile internet for that matter? Did I see alion-on-alion shooting at one point? What were the FX guys thinking/taking when thought a good design for an alien mothership would be to cross Cleopatra's needle with something 'to enhance your love life' (Buzzzz) and proceed to dangle kitchen utensils off of it? I would suggest that rather than watch this film you should watch Independence Day on a loop whilst drinking as much caffeine as your metabolism will allow until you pass out and have your unconscious self placed on an over loaded washing machine on full spin. The resulting nightmare will come pretty close to this effort and be far easier to follow. (This was for comic effect please do not try the above!) Finally JCVD was clearly filmed with his daughter at a different time/location. Rant over!
Alien Free MovieBy ggld2001 (11 reviews) , 02 Sep 2013Yet another nail in the coffin for UK movies. Very poor acting and storyline. Even Jean-Claude Van Damme's acting is poor at best. This film would not even make it to the sci-fi B Movie list it is just that bad.
War of the Worlds - Up NorthBy a customer , 26 Aug 2013This film does not star Jean-Claude Van Damme, his role is a cameo. If you take that into account then it is a reasonable TV sci-fi movie. I was disappointed overall, as I expected more from the UK film industry. Inserting bit's here and there like a collage distracts from the story, which is interesting. Maybe Hollywood will take the story and tell it properly. There was some nice quotes, and the acting, albeit Brookie in style, was within the parameters of the story. It is not a b-movie, which has become a specific genre and best parodied in Mars Attacks.
