    Fugly Betsy

Ugly Betty is one of my favourite TV Shows after the Simpsons. It compares to LOST and Desperate Housewives but it is more suitable for children. The story goes that Betty Suraz is from a latino background and she has just got a job as Daniel Meade's assistant in MODE Magazine (Daniel is an editor.) Betty doesen't excaly fit in with anyone else that is 5 ft 4 and perfectly waxed, but she will put a smile on your face

Watch the first season of Ugly Betty to laugh out loud, wipe your tears away or let Betty put a smile on your face!

You should definatly rent this out and think it is better worth watching than 24 and Prison Break

    A Great Programme

Ugly Betty is light-hearted and funny. I have enjoyed all of season one and look forward to season two. You will not be disappointed with your decision to rent this DVD - a must if you have missed the chance to see it on TV or want to relax infront your favourite chararcters from the show again. I will miss it when it is off the screen so will be adding this title to my list.

    Good Fun

    What can you say ?

Ugly Betty is never going to win prizes for depth or importance but I don't it think it cares. It's fun to watch, sheer entertainment, Betty is so lovable you really want all the best for her. I have never really been a fan of Sex in the City, Ally McBeal, Prison break or any of the other USA imports but I like this, it’s so beautifully and un-apologisingly camp it’s almost pantomime as I say great fun.

    What's with the constant 'bleeping-out'

Ugly Betty is a brilliant series but these rental versions of the discs have this really infuriating bleeping out of every single mention of Fashion TV and other tv shows and trademarks. Considering this Fashion TV is an integral part of the series it makes things lose sense and is so annoying to have beeps through this. You expect 'bleeping-out' on swear words on daytime TV, not on a dvd you've paid to rent!!

    Beautiful Betty!

What a great series! It's heartwarming, funny, ridiculous and at times tearjerking. It's one of those programmes that makes you feel good afterwards. All the characters are hilarious and excellently acted. And Betty in particular is charming as the 'ugly duckling' in the fashion world. Even the undesirable characters have a softer side that at times is very touching. It's this that makes you like them at the same time as booing them. Lots of plot twists and character developements keep it interesting. A hilarious portrayal of the fashion industry. And it's not just for girls! I'm a 22 year old bloke and I love it!

    Betty La Fea

Ugly Betty is one of these TV-series that’s compelling to watch for a few episodes but quickly runs out of good, original ideas. Not that it was particularly original in the first place (the pilot plagiarises The Devil Wears Prada down to its jokes, not to mention the plot and Soundtrack!), but the idea of having a total fashion outcast working in the industry makes for an interesting story I guess. Betty, is annoyingly adorable and her closeness to her family, cute. There are some really funny moments when Betty tries real hard to fit in but fails miserably to everyone’s amusement. Including the viewers. And you can’t help feeling sorry for her, when she is publicly humiliated, over and over again. It’s also worth watching for Salma Hayek’s cameo, as one of the characters in a tele-novela watched by the Suarez family.

It starts off well and the jokes and the story are strong enough to keep you entertained throughout season 1. But just barely… I can’t really see myself watching season 2, as I feel everything that needs to be said has been said in season 1 and any more episodes would just be milking the Ugly Betty concept.
