An amiable if minor throwback to the comedy spy caper so popular at the end of the 1960s. Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner are super spies on leave in New Orleans with their infant, who are called back into service to help foil a plot to sell off top-secret weapons. Quaid and Turner make a pair of charismatic leads and are surrounded by a talented support cast: Fiona Shaw is enjoyably over-the-top as a villain and Stanley Tucci excels as a hapless thug, while there are also engaging turns from Tom Arnold, Larry Miller and Saul Rubinek. Herbert Ross's direction is suitably light and even if it isn't as funny as some in the cast appear to think it is, the film is still undemanding fun.
A comedy that desperately strains for laughs without delivering any; it is almost a throwback to the spy spoofs of the 60s.
Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner in a little known comedy which I have been trying to find since I caught the end on tv a couple of years ago. Some very funny dialogue (without smut) and characters that are likeable. One to watch for a light hearted laugh.
I rarely rewatch movies, but i watched this several times. 'My name is Muerte!'has to be the classic line of the movie. Funny and possible for the whole family to watch.
