great prequel explaining the start of the war.
highly recommended with loads of action.
WARNING : a lot more gore than the other films!
Having read the Empire magazine review which gave this film 1 star, I decided as usual to ignore it and see the film anyway. I was not disappointed as I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
The film has two main themes, the rise of the Lycans and a love between the Vampire leader's daughter (Rhona Mitra) and the Lycan leader (Michael Sheen, who was appearing in the next door screen as David Frost in Frost vs Nixon, a very versatile actor!!!).
The only thing which doesn't quite work, on the odd occasion, is the CGI but this does not detract from the enjoyment of the film.
If you like fantasy with lots of action, then this is for you.
