    'Vampires Vs Werewolves'

Sounds at best like a comic book, at worst like a cheesy low budget, laughably bad piece of horror.

If youre prepared to look beyond this you will be rewarded by a well written gothic thriller that is quite a treat.

Take ideas from blade, the matrix, mix with traditional gothic ideals, and even a pinch of classic period drama (I cannot really explain the period drama references without giving away large pieces of the plot but on so many levels this could have easily been rich vs poor, black vs white, the families of romeo and juliet you name it, I kid you not) but its all bought back down to earth with some matrix style action which actually works better and is more convincing in this film.

In short its a well written story which steals ideas from all over the place but works with them to make them better and more convincing than those films the ideas were stolen from.

Screams for a sequel. Watch with an open mind and be rewarded.

Id also like to point out this film also raises the bar with some excellent acting, particularly from Kate.

Pretty good! I have seen both of these films. I did find them a little confusing about what was actually happening in them. The first one more so than the second, but still I did enjoy them

  • This film is a waste of time

This film was a lame vampirey matrix rip off. Poor acting (REALLY POOR!!), poor script, and the whole thing where someone has to fire off 50 rounds of ammunition to get one on target is just so annoying. It was a relief when the credits rolled up...

  • Romeo & Juliet - With More Of A Bite

    Underworld 3 / 5

Two households, both alike in canine teeth,

In Gothic Budapest, where we lay our scene,

From ancient grudge break to new pointy teeth,

Where civil blood makes a hybrid, so unclean.

From forth the fatal bites of these two foes

A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life,

    Whose misadventured piteous overthrows

Doth with their death dealing, cause a lot of strife.

The fearful passage of their death-marked love

And the continuance of the immortal's rage,

Which but their children̓s end, naught could remove,

    Is now the two-hours̓ traffic available on DVD;

The which if you with patient ears attend,

What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend, in a sequel.

My apologies to William Shakespeare, but Underworld is nothing but Romeo and Juliet, with pointier teeth. An enjoyable diversion and apart from the actor that portrays Michael Corvin, all put in watchable performances.

After watching the Res Evil Trilogy i thought Ooo another bad ass woman killing things..... Erm so disappointed, The movie starts in the middle of a story i was lost from the moment its started till the momnet i got bored and turned it of. Maybe its just me but i'm not a fan of Vampire films.... I prefer Zombies and Slasher movies.
