After the evil nanny (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle), creepy flatmate (Single White Female) and the tenant from hell (Pacific Heights) comes the psychotic cop, so unbalanced that you see him unravelling before your eyes. He's portrayed here with credibility by Ray Liotta, who never reduces his character to caricature. As he targets innocent couple Kurt Russell and Madeleine Stowe his insecurities become unnervingly mixed in with his charm. Sadly, there are yawning gaps in the plot and the climax is so overcooked you can't help but laugh.
Moderate thriller of a now very familiar kind that deals with a flatmate, tenant, nanny, and, in this instance, a cop from hell.
This is a great thriller which owes much credit to stars Ray Liotta and Kurt Russell.
Husband and wife get disturbed by a burglar and later find support from an over-helpful police officer, but what are his real motives?
Everyone who likes thrillers such as 'Pacific Heights' is sure to enjoy this movie.
The excellent Ray Liotta steals the acting honours as the pyscho cop who preys on a middle class couple after he is sent to investigate a break-in at their property.
Kurt Russell is good as the innocent victim, and although this thriller doesn't quite match up to one of Russell's previous thrillers ('Breakdown'- 1997) it's still a movie worth watching.
